Human being has many chapters in his or her life. Thousands of moments are there in a single chapter. It seems that every single feeling of life is puppet of time. Time does not pay heed to the tune of one’s feeling. I have tried to capture some feeling of certain moments of time.
Destination series are the portrayals of one those chapters of life. I have tried to touch the time of Old Age. The realization, feeling and horrible loneliness are the subject matter of my paintings. One who was one life for everyone, a necessity for others, today is turned to be a person to feel pity on. Sometimes that pity is also a rare thing to have in favor.
The friends of Old Age are a stick and the death in the end. The world of mind is colonized by the imperialistic death. Dialogues go on in the thought with the bed, with bamboo fence, sometimes with shroud or with shadow of one’s own corpse. The color of pain turns pale. Pain itself perils before the person who is a dead by Old Age before the physical death.
The only truth in human life is “death”. These thoughts make life very complicated at a certain age. After the age of 60, people begin the journey of loneliness. Where they separate themselves from the known world and live. They feel death every single moment of rest of their life. They smell the smell of death, and wait for death. With this idea, I did a solo exhibition on February 14, 2007 titled “Destination.”
